How much is it worth?

This is a good question. There are a few things to think about when trying to assess how much your antique or vintage item is worth. Rarity, desirability and condition.

Assuming it is somewhat rare and desirable then the biggest factor is going to be the overall condition. People in the market for rare items want the item to be in as close to the original condition as possible and are willing to pay top dollar to get it. It is amazing how much more an item can be worth in mint or near mint condition compared to one with normal scrapes and wear and tear. Having the original box or packaging really helps to increase the value and add to the desirability.

How do I find out my item's actual worth? If you choose to do some research on your own, the Internet is the best resource. eBay is a good place to start. On eBay, you can search for your item and see if anyone else has sold it in the past. Seeing what someone bought the same item for is a great indicator as to what your item will be worth. When looking on eBay be sure to click your way to the advanced search area and check the completed listings box. That way you will see listings that have actually sold (or not sold) versus looking at items that are currently for sale often at high prices that do not recieve any bids. Looking at sold listings is really the only way to value an item accurately. Also pay attention to the comaparable items condition, packaging etc.

I buy all kinds of items in various states of condition. I hope you contact me if you want a quick & easy sale of your items in the Santa Cruz County CA area!
